CHARLESTON, S.C., May 27 (UPI) -- Bill Murray: bachelor party sage!

The 63-year-old actor was at a steakhouse in Charleston, S.C., over the weekend when a bachelor party asked him to say a few words for the husband-to-be. Murray initially declined the invitation, but appeared moments later to give an impromptu speech.

The good-natured star elicited cheers from the group when he imparted, "You know how they say funerals are for the dead, not the living? Bachelor parties are not for the groom, they're for the unmarried."

"If you have someone that you think is the one...take that person and travel around the world," he went on to advise. "Buy a plane ticket for the two of you to travel all around the world, and go to places that are hard to go to and hard to get out of."

"When you come back to JFK airport...and you're still in love with that person, get married," he concluded.

Murray will next appear in St. Vincent on October 24.
