NEW YORK, May 23 (UPI) -- Tina Fey and Amy Poehler recently gave Don Rickles a taste of his own medicine.

The two women had an arsenal of insults on hand when they honored the 88-year-old comedian during a special comedy tribute. Well-known for his own acerbic wit, Rickles is sarcastically nicknamed "Mr. Warmth" for his offensive brand of humor. Fey, Poehler, David Letterman, Jon Stewart and many others gathered earlier this month to recognize Mr. Warmth's decades-long career in One Night Only: An All-Star Comedy Tribute to Don Rickles.

The Spike TV event took place May 6 at the Apollo Theater in New York, and is set to air on the network May 28. The channel released a preview earlier this week that teases Fey and Poehler's roast of the legendary comedian.

"We're here tonight to celebrate Don Rickles," Fey announces to the audience. "And honestly, it's almost like he's here with us. You can feel his spirit in the room tonight."

One Night Only: An All-Star Comedy Tribute to Don Rickles airs at 9 p.m. ET May 28 on Spike TV.
