LOS ANGELES, May 21 (UPI) -- Lea Michele admits to having dated Glee co-star Matthew Morrison in her new book Brunette Ambition.

Both actors -- who met in Broadway long before landing their roles in Fox's hit sitcom -- denied reports of their fling several times in the past, but Michele came clean in her memoir writing that the two did in fact date "for a Broadway beat."

"When we shot the [Glee] pilot, I met Cory Monteith, Kevin McHale, Amber Riley and Chris Colfer for the first time," Michele, 27, writes in her book. "I had worked on Broadway with Jenna Ushkowitz and Matthew Morrison before. Matt had been a friend of mine for years, and in fact we'd actually dated back in the day for a Broadway beat."

When asked about their alleged relationship in 2010, Michele told Hollywood.com that she and Morrison had been friends for years and that "people are going to make things up. I think it's just because we really are so close."

That same year, Morrison told Parade that rumors of his relationship with the actress were false.

Michele eventually went on to date her Glee on-screen beau Cory Monteith. The two were together from 2008 until his death in 2013. Morrison, on the other hand, is currently engaged to Renee Puente.
