NEW YORK, May 11 (UPI) -- Barbara Walters made a guest appearance on this weekend's Saturday Night Live, hosted by Charlize Theron, to discuss her illustrious career in journalism with "Weekend Update" host Cecily Strong.

Strong played a montage of Barbara Walters impersonations throughout the years.

"What an honor it was to see my groundbreaking career in journalism reduced to a cartoon character with a ridiculous voice," Walters responded.

When Strong called Walters an inspiration, the 84-year-old hit back, "Well, but I'm a real news anchor. I'm not like some fake anchor like you."

Strong then reminded Walters that she co-hosted The View.

Walters will retire May 16.
