LOS ANGELES, May 7 (UPI) -- Rebel Wilson is reportedly attached to the long-gestating remake of 1980's Private Benjamin, Tracking Board reported Tuesday.

New Line and producer Mark Gordon (The To-Do List) are hoping to replicate the box-office success of the original, which starred Goldie Hawn as a spoiled woman who joins the U.S. Army when her husband dies on their wedding night.

Wilson will play a redneck who joins the Marines with a "rich city girl."

The remake has been in the works for years, with Anna Faris originally attached the title role.
