WASHINGTON, May 4 (UPI) -- Michelle Obama more than held her own amongst the celebrities at Saturday night's White House Correspondents' Dinner, the Beltway's showy and self-indulgent gathering of media personalities and political elites -- also known as nerd prom.

The fashionable first lady looked effortlessly glamorous in an off-the-shoulder grey tulle ball gown designed by Marchesa, the sartorial brainchild of Keren Craig and Georgina Chapman. Chapman's husband, influential Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein, also happened to attend the event.

The dress was a customized version of this look from Marchesa's Fall 2013 RTW collection, apparently inspired by this Goya painting.

Obama also wore Marchesa to last December's Kennedy Center Honors.
