LOS ANGELES, April 24 (UPI) -- Selena Gomez has been executing a social media cleanse over the past few days. According to the NYDN, the 21-year-old pop star began un-following several -- and eventually all -- of her Instagram and Twitter friends on Monday. Kendall and Kylie Jenner were allegedly the first ones to be cut on both social media forums. Gomez also deleted all pictures she had with them on the image sharing site.

Gomez's former BFF Taylor Swift was also un-followed by the singer's Instagram account on Tuesday and several pictures of the two together have been erased from Gomez's account as well. Later that day, Gomez un-followed the 14 people remaining in her account including her Spring Breakers costars Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Benson.
It is still unclear what prompted the "Come and Get It" singer to un-follow her closest friends. However, news of her social media cleanse comes a month after it was reported that she and Swift had a fallout following Gomez's reconciliation with ex beau Justin Bieber.
On the other hand, both Gomez and Bieber were seen hanging out with the Jenner sisters at Coachella two weeks ago.
