Lindsay Lohan is on her way to Coachella, promises friends she wont drink

The "Mean Girls" star has reportedly been clean and sober since leaving rehab in August 2013.

INDIO, Calif., April 11 (UPI) -- Recovering actress Lindsay Lohan told friends that she would not drink at The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.

According to TMZ, the New York-based actress headed to the music festival Friday and told friends that even though she is aware that attending the event would be a risk for her sobriety, she's certain that she can handle it.

Lohan reportedly "promised" her friends she'd be able to stay sober through the weekend-long event.

The Mean Girls star has reportedly been clean and sober since her last rehab stint, which ended in August 2013.
