Mariska Hargitay dresses as a princess for daughter's birthday

NEW YORK, April 10 (UPI) -- Mariska Hargitay looked nothing like her Law & Order: SVU character Detective Olivia Benson as she stepped out in a princess dress for her daughter's birthday on Saturday.

The 50-year-old actress donned a pink puffy dress and a crown for her daughter Amaya’s third birthday party in New York City's Upper West Side eatery Sugar and Plumm. Her husband, Peter Hermann, wore a dragon costume for the event while Amaya dressed as Belle from Beauty and the Beast.

According to Page Six, the costume party turned into a singalong event when the track "Let It Go" from the Disney film Frozen came up. After the event, Hargitay, Hermann and Amaya walked home in their customs carrying several balloons from the party.
