NEW YORK, April 9 (UPI) -- Katherine Heigl has slapped Duane Reade with a $6 million lawsuit, after the convenience chain posted a photo of her leaving a New York City branch to its Twitter page.

The lawsuit cites a March 18 Twitter post, which included a paparazzi photo of the 35-year-old Knocked Up star carrying two Duane Reade bags.

"Love a quick #DuaneReade run? Even @KatieHeigl can’t resist shopping #NYC's favorite drugstore," read the caption.

Heigl's legal team said that this particular use of her image "improperly exploited" her name to promote the store "without authorization."

The actress said she plans to donate any winnings to charity.
