LOS ANGELES, April 7 (UPI) -- Mickey Rooney, the diminutive all-American boy next door who top-lined Hollywood films of 1930s and 40s, was found dead Sunday at his home in Los Angeles. He was 93.
Rooney died of natural causes, according to TMZ, though the Los Angeles County Coroner's office has yet to confirm this. Rooney's career in show business spanned a mind-boggling nine decades. Born Joe Yule Jr. to vaudevillian parents who routinely incorporated him into their act, Rooney signed to MGM at age 14 and quickly became one of the studio's biggest stars.
