NEW YORK, April 5 (UPI) -- Unforgettable actress Poppy Montgomery surprised her fans Friday when she announced she got married in secret in February … and wore jeans while saying "I do."
Montgomery announced her Feb. 19 nuptials at Disneyland on Live! with Kelly & Michael.
She married longtime boyfriend Shawn Sanford, with whom she has a daughter."My mother was horrified. She was like, 'How do you turn Disneyland into Vegas? You don't run away to Disneyland and get married!' " Montgomery said. "Mickey and Minnie came dressed as a bride and a groom!"
[Live! with Kelly and Michael] [ABC News]"My children were so in awe of Mickey and Minnie that they didn't really pay any attention to the wedding," she said. "And then my stepdaughter said, 'Why is Minnie dressed better than you?' Because I wore jeans!"
