LOS ANGELES, April 3 (UPI) -- Quentin Tarantino will host an upcoming stage reading of his shelved script, The Hateful Eight.

The director abandoned the project earlier this year after the script was leaked without his permission or knowledge.

Tarantino intended The Hateful Eight to be a Western movie that takes place in a blizzard. The storm traps a group of travelers that include a pair of rival bounty hunters, a rebellious Confederate soldier and a female prisoner. The eight must contend with one another while they are stranded in a saloon in the middle of nowhere.

The script reading will be held at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art's Bing Theater. Tickets will be $200, and care will be taken to ensure that no audience members record or live stream the show.

"Quentin Tarantino is a key figure in the independent creative industry," Film Independent president Josh Welsh says. "We are thrilled that Quentin will be holding the World Premiere Staged Reading of his script of The Hateful Eight with Film Independent at LACMA."

Tarantino sued Gawker for copyright infringement after the website linked to the leaked script hosted on a third party site. A hearing in the case is scheduled for April 14.
