Insiders claim that both the Oscar-winning actress and Coldplay's front man are concerned about the PR damage that could ensue if they revealed the things they've done during their marriage. A day after their separation, Us Weekly shared photos of Paltrow kissing an old flame while still married to Martin. And thus, the couple has settled on an "amicable" divorce to avoid airing their dirty laundry in court documents that could leak to the public.

By conducting a speedy divorce showing no apparent conflicts -- the couple won't fight over money or custody --- both Paltrow and Martin will be able to safeguard their respective images from before and after their legal separation.

The former couple has remained rather harmonious since their split, even going on a beach vacation together with their children before announcing they were separating on Tuesday, March 25.
