Cameron Diaz defends Gwyneth Paltrow's 'conscious uncoupling'

The "Something About Mary" actress is "so proud" of Paltrow and Martin for remaining friends and parents after their split.

Cameron Diaz spoke about Gwyneth Paltrow's "Conscious Uncoupling" statement while interviewing with Extra at CinemaCon in Las Vegas.

“I think it's actually a very elevated and conscious and realized statement,” Diaz said. “People go separate ways in other aspects of their life, and I think it’s really brave of them to phrase it that way."

Paltrow and Coldplay's frontman announced their split Tuesday is a statement posted on the actress' website, Goop.

In their announcement, the couple claimed to have worked hard "to see what might have been possible" between them, but came "to the conclusion that while [they] love each other very much [they] will remain separate."

“Leaving as a couple and deciding to stay together as parents and as friends… I think it's beautiful," Diaz added. "I'm so proud of them.”
