Amanda Bynes' mom says the actress 'is doing extremely well'

Amanda Bynes' mom says her daughter is doing well and keeping busy with classes at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising.

"[Amanda] is doing extremely well," her mother, Lynn, tells People. "She's making new friends and learning about the fashion industry."

Bynes has been at FIDM for a little over three months now. A school source says that the actress "acts like any other student -- focused and friendly."

The troubled star recently posted photos of herself on social media in which she looks healthy and happy with her family. Bynes will remain legally under her mother's care until at least September of this year.

"She's very happy to reestablish the loving relationship with her family she once shared," family attorney Tamar Arminak previously told the magazine.
