Legendary stoner comedy duo Cheech and Chong announce their first official film together in over three decades.

The film will be written and directed by Broken Lizard’s Jay Chandrasekhar, who directed, co-wrote, and co-starred in Super Troopers, Club Dread and Beerfest.

The plot sounds similar to narrative premise of Beerfest, except this time the festival is about marijuana instead of beer.

"He's working a script right now for us," Chong explains in a new interview with Celeb Stoner. "We've had some preliminary meetings. It looks really good. It looks really funny. It's about us going to a festival called the Burning Joint. All sorts of shenanigans happen. It's going to be a lot of fun."

Though last year saw the release of Cheech and Chong’s Animated Movie, a cartoon redering of the team’s classic comedy albums -- “They animated the old records. I thought for what they had it was great. We didn't have to write anything,” Chong says -- it’s been over 30 years since the last official Cheech and Chong movie, 1983’s Still Smokin’, the sequel to Up In Smoke, the breakout classic that made the pot smoking duo a stoner sensation.
