Emma Watson admits to being jealous of other actresses

Emma Watson grew up on the silver screen as Hermione Granger in the eight film adaptations of the Harry Potter saga, and even though she's been able to swiftly transition from child star to adult actress, Watson says it wasn't easy.

While interviewing for the April issue of Elle, the 23-year-old british actress opened up about the disadvantages of being a child actor and why she's jealous of other actress who started to work in the business when they were older.

"There are all these actresses who have emerged in the last year or two, and they get to emerge as this complete human being," she said. "And I'm so jealous!"

The Noah starlet went on to discuss her concerns regarding first times and how she didn't want her experiences to belong to the characters she plays.

"I remember reading this thing that Elizabeth Taylor wrote. She had her first kiss in character. On a movie set. It really struck me," Watson told Elle. "I don't know how or why, but I had this sense that if I wasn't really careful, that could be me. That my first kiss could be in somebody else's clothes. And my experiences could all belong to someone else."

Watson, who plays Ila in the upcoming blockbuster adaptation of the biblical tale Noah, later said that the film was basically a "shakespearean" story.

"What happens to this family when they’re put in this confined space for 40 days and 40 nights. It’s the end of the world -- how these different human beings are dealing with the impact of that. Are humans good? Are we bad? All of these themes are epic.”
