Lady Sif has teamed up with the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Jaimie Alexander reprised her role as Lady Sif during Tuesday's episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The 30-year-old star made her debut on the show in an attempt to help the agents in their fight against Asgardian Lorelei (played by Elena Satine).

The brunette beauty has played Lady Sif in the two blockbuster installments of Thor. The actress told TV Guide that the crossover idea was entirely Clark Gregg's -- who is famous for his role as Agent Phil Coulson in all Marvel films and star in the ABC show -- and that she was all in since the beginning.

"I said, 'Absolutely, I think it would be a lot of fun and I'd totally be game for it.' Of course, two weeks later I got a call. I was like, 'Ah, Clark buttered me up.' But I didn't have to be buttered up," she explained.

In the series however, it was Lady Sif who enlisted S.H.I.E.L.D. to help her find Lorelei.

"Lady Sif is a one-woman army when it comes to hunting someone down. It's rare that she needs help, but I think the reason she asks S.H.I.E.L.D. for help is because she respects Earth. She knows Thor does, too," Alexander told Comic Book resources. "She doesn't want to wreak havoc across Earth and possibly hurt other people, so she wants to enlist their help and say, "This is your world. Let's be collaborative in how we go about this."
