Chris Pine charged with DUI

Chris Pine was recently arrested for drunk driving in New Zealand.

The 33-year-old Star Trek reboot star was in Methven, New Zealand shooting his upcoming movie, Z for Zachariah.

Police confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that a 33-year-old American man was stopped in the early hours of March 1, but would not reveal his identity due to New Zealand privacy laws. Sources say the man was Pine, who had been celebrating at a wrap party with other cast members into the wee hours.

Z for Zachariah will debut in 2015. The film is directed by Craig Zobel and also stars Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years a Slave) and Margot Robbie (The Wolf of Wall Street). The film follows a 16-year-old girl who survives nuclear war in America.

Sources say that Pine is due in Ashburton district court on March 17 to address the DUI charge.
