LOS ANGELES, March 6 (UPI) -- Simon Cowell dished on parenthood and wanting to have more children in his first interview since welcoming his first son, Eric, on Valentine's Day 2014.
"I was born to be a dad," the music mogul told Extra, adding that at first he wasn't so sure parenthood was for him.
“I actually said to Lauren beforehand, 'What if I like the dogs more than him?' -- and she said, 'You're gonna be absolutely fine,' and then literally within seconds of him being born, I got it!” Cowell confessed.
The 54-year-old X Factor creator went on to say that both Lauren Silverman and Eric were doing great. He joked that at this point, Eric was more calmed than his mom.
“Lauren's actually been crying more than Eric, so I've had to put one of those pacifiers in her which she likes! Has to be fed every three hours, otherwise she gets a little bit grumpy, and Eric's absolutely fine!” he quipped.
After explaining that the two decided to name their child Eric after Cowell's late father, the television producer added that he sees more children in his future.
“I wouldn't rule out [more children]! Well, I got Squiddly and Diddly, and I couldn't imagine Squiddly or just Diddly… I had a brother when I was younger, so I kind of think it’s cool to have two or three… two.”
Eric is Silverman's second son, as she already has 7-year-old Adam with ex-husband -- and former friend of Cowell's -- Andrew Silverman.
