LOS ANGELES, March 4 (UPI) -- Chris Evans has announced his intent to take a break from acting.

The 32-year-old star allegedly told the U.K. edition of Glamour magazine that he plans to take a break once his contract with Marvel is finished. Evans, who will make his debut as director this year with 1:30 Train, seemed to hint that he will refocus his energy on more directorial projects.

In addition to other roles, the busy actor has appeared as Captain America in two films since 2011, and made a brief cameo in 2013's Thor: The Dark World. Evans will reprise his superhero character in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, set for release on April 4, and for 2015's Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Evans called Captain America a "really human super hero" in a recent interview with Slash Film. He says that although the character "doesn't shoot lightning...[or] fly" and possesses "meat and potatoes type powers," the "moral issues about right and wrong and good and bad" that the character copes with are concerns "we can all relate to."
