LOS ANGELES, March 4 (UPI) -- Auditions for The Voice's sixth season continued on Monday night, and mentor and coach Blake Shelton has scored big for his team.

Rival coach and Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine had appeared to gain the upper hand when he recruited contestant Patrick Thompson to his team. Thompson, a country rock talent, seemed perfect for country star Shelton, but Levine snatched up the singer first.

Shelton had the last laugh, however, when he landed a show-stopping R&B singer for his team. 44-year-old contestant Sisaundra Lewis, a former backup singer for Celine Dion, blew away all four of the judges with her rendition of Aretha Franklin's "Ain't No Way." Lewis's powerful performance and "ravishing" vocals established her as a competitor to beat on this season's show.

Shelton has won three of the show's past five seasons. Watch season six on Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EST on NBC.
