LOS ANGELES, March 3 (UPI) -- Chloe Sevigny and James D'Arcy are set to star in A&E's upcoming detective drama Those Who Kill.

The series will follow the recently promoted detective Catherine Jensen (Sevigny) as she deals with life and the demons of her new job.

"There's this great lineage of cops on TV and there's been all these amazing male characters that are morally ambiguous, and finally to have a female one ... I just felt like this was a great opportunity," Sevigny told TVGuide about the show. "I thought the character was really complex and multilayered."

Those Who Kill will premiere Monday 10/9c as HBO's anthology crime drama True Detective signs off for the season. In Monday's episode, Sevigny enlists D'Arcy's character, forensic profiler Thomas Schaeffer, to help her crack a case.

"Catherine and my character are both pretty damaged individuals. ... They see themselves as kindred spirits right away," D'Arcy told TVGuide. "Thomas is studying a live case here, which I think is very exciting to him. ... But also, within all of that, he has a very protective streak toward her."
