2014 Oscar Winners: '12 Years a Slave' wins Best Picture

"12 Years a Slave" beat out fellow frontrunners "American Hustle" and "Gravity" for this year's Best Picture.

LOS ANGELES, March 3 (UPI) -- 12 Years a Slave didn't dissapoint rapturous film critics who predicted it would go on to win this year's Academy Award for Best Picture, beating out nine other nominees in a crowded category. American Hustle led this year's crop of nominations -- tied with Gravity -- but went home empty-handed.
