John Cena's knee injury is fake, part of story plot

STAMFORD, Conn., Feb. 26 (UPI) -- Two days after WWE superstar John Cena allegedly suffered a knee injury during a RAW fight with The Wyatt Family, sources have come forward to claim it was all part of a story plot.

The 36-year-old wrestler was reportedly injured when Erick Rowan grabbed Cena's leg as he attacked him. Cena told doctors at ringside that he was unable to put weight on his leg and was taken out in a stretcher during the commercial break. It was determined then that he had either dislocated or hyper-extended his knee.

However, new reports claim that the whole thing was an act and according to sources, the injury was part of a story line to market Cena's next fight against Bray Wyatt at the WrestleMania 30 as a "big revenge."

Still Wrestling News World reported that the injury had been real and ABC's Ryan Slocum tweeted a picture of Cena's swollen knee.

As the Bleacher Report points out, if Cena's injury turns out to be real and it's serious it could cause a huge drawback for the WWE, as he was expected to be a major part of the upcoming WrestleMania.
