LONDON, Jan. 24 (UPI) -- Rugby star Mike Tindall announced Thursday his daughter, 16th in line to the British throne, will be named Mia Grace.

Tindall and his wife, Zara Phillips, did not take the traditional route of going through Buckingham Palace to release the news, the Independent reported. Instead, Tindall sent out a message via Twitter: "For everyone who has asked what our daughters name, it's Mia Grace Tindall. -- mike tindall (@miketindall13) January 23, 2014."

Phillips is the daughter of Princess Anne, titled the Princess Royal. The princess declined royal honors for her children.

Mia Grace was born last week at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital. She is Anne's third grandchild, and the fourth great-grandchild for Queen Elizabeth II and her husband.
