LONDON, Oct. 23 (UPI) -- Britain's Prince William and his wife, Kate, have chosen seven godparents for their 3-month-old son, Prince George, People.com reported.

The baby is to be baptized Wednesday at a small invitation-only ceremony at the Chapel Royal in London's St. James's Palace.

William and Kate selected as the godparents for their first child several friends, as well as Zara Tindall, William's cousin and an Olympic equestrian; Earl "Hugh" Grosvenor, the son one of William's own godparents, the duchess of Westminster; and Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton, the couple's former private secretary.

William's brother, Prince Harry, and Kate's sister, Pippa Middleton, are not among the godparents.

"It was entirely their choice, their personal preference. There was no set number that they had to choose and have gone with seven people," a palace source told People.com. "They wanted to include family and friends and reflect their life on both sides."
