LOS ANGELES, Aug. 17 (UPI) -- A Los Angeles judge sentenced singer Chris Brown to an additional 1,000 hours of community service for previously submitting fake community service reports.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney said Brown submitted bogus reports that he was cleaning up trash in Virginia when he was actually on a private jet to Cancun, Mexico.
Brown was sentenced to 1,440 hours of community service for assaulting singer and then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009. A judge revoked Brown's probation last month after the singer was accused of being involved in a hit-and-run accident.
A judge said Friday he would reinstate Brown's probation if he completes an additional 1,000 hours of community service along with the 1,440 hours he was required to do previously. Any hours he may have legitimately served of the 1,400-hour sentence will not count, TMZ reported Friday.
The previous judge said Brown could serve his community service in his home state of Virginia, but the judge Friday said the singer must be supervised by Los Angeles County officials.
