Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard, who welcomed a baby girl back in March, have actually been engaged since 2009. But the couple vowed not to tie the knot until gay and lesbian couples could do the same.
"The reason we're not rushing to get married is because I don't feel appropriate taking advantage of a right that's denied to my [gay and lesbian] friends," the actress told Larry King in 2012.
"It's just kind of rude to invite everyone to a party for a rite not everyone can hold," she added.
But after reveling in the wake of Wednesday's historic Supreme Court decisions on same-sex marriage, Bell re-initiated her engagement to Shepard over Twitter:
.@daxshepard1 will you marry me? Xo #marriageequality #loveislove”
