Screen cowboy Dale Robertson dead at 89
SAN DIEGO, Feb. 28 (UPI) -- Famed screen cowboy Dale Robertson has died of lung cancer and pneumonia in a San Diego hospital, his family said. He was 89.
The Oklahoma native was a World War II veteran and member of the Cowboy Hall of Fame. Best known for his work on TV's "Tales of Wells Fargo" in the late 1950s, he also appeared on the shows "Dynasty," "Dallas," "Harts of the West," "Death Valley Days," "Iron Horse" and "J.J. Starbuck," The Hollywood Reporter said.
Among his film credits are "Fighting Man of the Plains," "Call Mr. Mister," "The Farmer Takes a Wife" and "Top of the World."
The Hollywood Reporter said Robertson used his earnings as an actor to build Haymaker Farms in Yukon, Okla., where he and his wife, Susan, raised horses. The couple sold the ranch several years ago.
Music producer Winans gets 14 yrs in jail
DETROIT, Feb. 28 (UPI) -- A federal judge in Detroit has sentenced music producer Michael Winans Jr. to nearly 14 years in prison for his role in an $8 million investment scheme.
Winans, 30, is a member of the famous Winans family of gospel music performers. Convicted on wire fraud charges, he was sentenced Wednesday to 13 years, nine months in prison and ordered to pay $4.8 million in restitution to his victims, The Detroit Free Press reported.
Prosecutors said his scam hurt 1,200 investors by tearing apart their marriages, causing them to lose their homes, destroying their college plans and wiping out their life savings.
Before sentencing Winans, U.S. District Judge Sean Cox admonished him for taking advantage of "good, decent, churchgoing people."
"That is very, very troubling to me. ... You used ... churches to perpetuate this fraud," the Free Press quoted Cox as saying.
"I did make mistakes," Winans admitted at his sentencing, acknowledging he caused "financial and emotional damage."
"For that I repent," Winans told the judge, insisting there was no "malicious intent on my part."
"I wanted people to have a good life," he said.
Carrie Fisher out of hospital
LOS ANGELES, Feb. 28 (UPI) -- Carrie Fisher's publicist says the U.S. actress and writer is out of the hospital and feeling better after a bipolar episode aboard a cruise ship.
Video showed the one-time "Star Wars" leading lady slurring her words and singing off-key while her dog defecates on the stage of the Holland America Eurodam luxury liner in the Caribbean last week.
Fisher, 56, was featured on the cruise as a surprise celebrity guest.
TMZ said Wednesday buzz among attendees of the show was the recovering alcoholic and drug addict was intoxicated at the time.
But her representative told the celebrity news website her strange behavior was related to her bipolar disorder.
"There was a medical incident related to Carrie Fisher's bipolar disorder. She went to the hospital briefly to adjust her medication and is feeling much better now," the publicist told TMZ.
Fisher is the daughter of actress Debbie Reyolds and the late singer-actor Eddie Fisher. She was recently seen in the celebrated autobiographical, one-woman show "Wishful Drinking" on Broadway.
She has been in the news in recent months as fans and the media speculate about whether she will reprise her role of Princess Leia in the upcoming "Star Wars" sequels.

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 28 (UPI) -- Baauer's "Harlem Shake" is No. 1 on the U.S. record chart for a second week, Billboard.com reported Thursday.
Coming in at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 is Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' "Thrift Shop" featuring Wanz, followed by Bruno Mars' "When I Was Your Man" at No. 3, Taylor Swift's "I Knew You Were Trouble" at No. 4 and will.i.am and Britney Spears' "Scream & Shout" at No. 5.
Rounding out the top tier are Drake's "Started From the Bottom" at No. 6, Rihanna's "Stay," featuring Mikky Ekko at No. 7, Justin Timberlake's "Suit & Tie" featuring Jay-Z at No. 8, Bruno Mars' "Locked Out of Heaven" at No. 9 and Lil Wayne's "Love Me" featuring Drake and Future at No. 10.
