AMY LOCANE-BOVENIZER: "Cry-Baby" actress Amy Locane-Bovenizer has been sentenced to three years in New Jersey state prison for vehicular homicide and assault by auto.

Locane-Bovenizer, 41, must serve at least two years behind bars before she is eligible for parole, the Newark Star-Ledger said Thursday.

Locane-Bovenizer could have faced up to 15 years in prison, if the maximum penalty had been imposed.

The judge overseeing the case said at sentencing he considered the hardship a prison term would have on Locane-Bovenizer's two daughters, the Star-Ledger said.

The charges against Locane-Bovenizer related to a Montgomery Township crash that left one woman dead and her husband critically injured.

Although the actress had a blood-alcohol content of three times the legal limit, her attorney argued she crashed into the other vehicle because she was being chased by another motorist, whom she had rear-ended earlier in the evening.

JIM JONES: Hip-hop artist Jim Jones was charged with disorderly conduct after an altercation with a police officer outside his home in Fair Lawn, N.J., officials said.

The Fair Lawn-Saddle Patch reported Jones was arrested Wednesday after he yelled at an officer responding to a complaint of a snowbound and illegally parked car outside Jones' home.

The officer ran Jones' name through a police database and discovered two warrants for his arrest -- one from Paterson for a motor vehicle violation and one from Fair Lawn for failure to remove snow from his sidewalk, the newspaper said.

The officer requested Jones go with him to police headquarters to settle the warrants, but Jones denied any wrongdoing and allegedly became disorderly, prompting his arrest, the report said.
