The concert, which will include tributes to late pop stars Whitney Houston and Donna Summer, is to air live Dec. 16. "American Idol" alum Adam Lambert will serve as host of the event.

The location of the concert has not been announced.

"This is going to be one hell of a party! We are extremely thrilled to have the extraordinarily talented Adam Lambert as our 2012 VH1 Divas host," Lee Rolontz, executive vice president of original music production and development for VH1 and VH1 Classic, said in a statement Thursday. "The world has truly been inspired by dance music and what better way for VH1 to pay tribute than by honoring legends Whitney Houston and Donna Summer through song and dance."

The show will benefit the VH1 Save the Music Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to keeping music education alive in American public schools.

Additional performers, presenters, special guests and sponsors will be announced as they are confirmed, VH1 said.

Lohan cancels Barbara Walters interview

NEW YORK, Nov. 9 (UPI) -- Lindsay Lohan's publicist says the Hollywood starlet has canceled an upcoming interview with veteran broadcast journalist Barbara Walters.

Deadline said the public-relations firm Rogers & Cowan confirmed Thursday night Lohan will not appear as planned on ABC's "20/20" program Nov. 16.

The 26-year-old actress was to go on the show to promote her Lifetime movie "Liz & Dick," which is to premiere Nov. 25.

Deadline cited unnamed sources as saying Lohan's representatives didn't want the interview to focus on her legal troubles instead of what is being touted as her comeback vehicle.

The "Mean Girls" and "Freaky Friday" star's once-bright career has been eclipsed in recent years by reports of her erratic behavior, family disputes, substance abuse and brushes with the law.

Joe Biden to guest star on 'Parks and Rec'

WASHINGTON, Nov. 9 (UPI) -- U.S. Vice President Joe Biden is to make a cameo appearance as himself on an upcoming episode of the sitcom "Parks and Recreation," NBC confirmed.

Biden's scene with show regulars Amy Poehler and Adam Scott was shot in Washington in July at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building next to the White House, the network said.

It will air on Thursday's edition of the show.

"Vice President Biden is both Leslie's [Poehler's character] political hero and her No. 1 celebrity crush, so meeting him is obviously a huge moment for her," Mike Schur, executive producer of "Parks and Recreation," said in a statement Thursday. "We looked at a number of actors to [play] the role of 'Vice President Joe Biden,' and ultimately, Joe Biden himself gave the best audition."

"Meeting Vice President Biden was a thrill for me and for Leslie," Poehler said. "He was a good sport and a great improviser. The vice president maintained his composure while I harassed him and invaded his personal space. The nation of 'Parks and Rec' will be forever grateful."
