DON GRADY: American actor and singer Don Grady died of cancer Wednesday in Thousand Oaks, Calif., his family told The Hollywood Reporter said. He was 68.

Deadline first reported his death, but did not say what kind of cancer he had battled.

The San Diego native is best known for his portrayal of Robbie Douglas on the sitcom "My Three Sons." An original Mousketeer on "The Mickey Mouse Club," his other small-screen credits include "Wagon Train," "The Rifleman," "Have Gun Will Travel" and "Dick Powell's Zane Grey Theater."

He also recorded the albums "Homegrown" and "Boomer."

He is survived by his wife, Ginny, and their two children, Joey and Tessa, The Hollywood Reporter said.

R. KELLY: R. Kelly's publicist says R&B star R. Kelly is ill and has canceled a trip to New York to promote his memoir "SoulaCoaster."

Kelly's representative said he is undergoing medical treatment in his hometown of Chicago.

"Initial indications are that he is suffering from complications from surgery he had last year to treat an abscess on his vocal cords," a statement said. "As a result, Kelly has had to cancel appearances on 'The Jimmy Fallon Show' and NBC's 'Today' as well as a book party that was being held in his honor. It is unclear how long Kelly may be sidelined."

JULIANNE MOORE: A remake of the horror classic "Carrie," starring Chloe Grace Moretz, Julianne Moore and Judy Greer, has begun shooting in Toronto, MGM said Wednesday.

Kimberly Peirce is directing the screen adaptation of Stephen King's supernatural tale of a telekinetic teenage girl tormented by her peers.

Peirce's directing credits include "Stop-Loss," "The L-Word' and "Boys Don't Cry," which she also wrote.

"Carrie" is slated for a 2013 theatrical release.

Brian De Palma's 1976 film version earned Oscar nominations for stars Sissy Spacek and Piper Laurie.

ROD STEWART: British recording artist Rod Stewart is working on his first Christmas album as part of a new deal with Universal Music Group, the record label said.

The long-term worldwide recording agreement, which will include multiple albums, was announced Wednesday by Lucian Grainge, the company's chairman and chief executive officer, as well as Stewart and his manager, Arnold Stiefel.

"I've known Rod and Arnold for many years and have been wanting to work with them for some time," Grainge said in a statement. "Rod possesses one of pop music's most inventive and memorable voices; and we're delighted to be part of the next great chapter in his already storied career."

"I'm confident that by partnering with my fellow [Commander of the British Empire,] Lucian, and his cracking, top-notch company, we have the best team in the business. And the chance to work again with [producer] David Foster makes it that much sweeter," Stewart said.
