LOHAN: Michael Lohan, father of actress Lindsay Lohan, jumped from a Tampa, Fla., balcony Thursday while trying to avoid arrest, police said.
It was his second arrest in three days, The St. Petersburg Times reported.
Michael Lohan was captured after he jumped from the third-floor balcony into a tree and then briefly fled officers on foot early Thursday morning. He was taken to Tampa General Hospital with what may be a broken foot, the newspaper said.
Michael Lohan was being kept in the hospital for monitoring until at least Friday morning, WTSP-TV, St. Petersburg, reported. Tampa police said he would be taken to jail once he was released from the hospital.
Police said the latest incident involving the star's father started just after 1 a.m. Thursday when they received a call from his on-again off-again girlfriend, Kate Major, who said he was harassing her by telephone.
Michael Lohan was arrested Tuesday on domestic violence charges involving Major, a former tabloid reporter, and was told to stay away from her when he was released from jail Wednesday night.
The newspaper said Michael Lohan told reporters Thursday Major had called him asking for help.
"She keeps doing this," he said. "She needs help, she calls me, and I'm a sucker so I call back. I'm an idiot."
TYLER: Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler says he fell in a bathroom shower in Paraguay because he was sick from food poisoning.
Tyler, who injured his eye and lost two teeth in Tuesday's fall, is with his band touring in South America. He told NBC's Today show Thursday morning he walked into the shower "got nauseous (from food poisoning), started to get sick and I fell on my face and I just passed out."
The 63-year-old singer and "American Idol" host said he received four stitches near his eye.
"I walked out of the shower looking like Leon Spinks," he told Today host Matt Lauer, in a telephone interview, as photos of his battered face and gap-toothed grin were shown, MSNBC reported.
Tyler, who has struggled with addiction in the past, said he wants to clear-up speculation that he's relapsed.
"That's not the issue," he said. "It's nothing I don't understand. It makes me a little upset. But I get that people think that. It's something that bothers me and it's something I'll have to deal with for the rest of my life."
RICHIE: Singer Lionel Richie says he's returning to his country roots with his new album "Tuskegee" featuring duets with some of country music's leading stars.
The veteran R&B crooner will debut several songs from the upcoming album in an appearance at the upcoming Country Music Association Awards. The CMA said Richie will perform some of his classics with the help of Little Big Town, Darius Rucker and Rascal Flatts on the Nov. 9 show, which will air live on ABC.
It will not be his first appearance at the awards. In 1984 Richie performed "Lady" with Kenny Rogers, and in 1986 he performed "Deep River Woman" with Alabama.
"Twenty-five years is too long to wait and we are thrilled to have Lionel back on the CMA Awards stage performing alongside our superstar acts," CMA Chief Executive Officer Steve Moore said in a release Thursday.
Richie, who was born and raised in Tuskegee, Ala., said he's a country boy at heart.
"Growing up with country, R&B, gospel, and classical music from my grandmother and pop, Tuskegee was the perfect melting pot for my influences as a writer," Richie said. "And the title, Tuskegee, is a validation of my growing up there -- the place I call home."
Blake Shelton, Jennifer Nettles, Shania Twain, Tim McGraw and Jason Aldean are among the country music singers who appear on the album with Richie.
BLIGE: VH1 is reviving its "Divas" franchise with a tribute to cities that nurtured the soul music that inspires today's music, the network said Thursday in New York.
Mary J. Blige, Jennifer Hudson, Jill Scott, Florence + The Machine, Kelly Clarkson and Jessie J will perform on the telecast, which will premiere Monday, Dec. 19 at 9 p.m. EST on the cable network.
"This year's telecast will showcase the vast impact soul music has had on the 21st century's music and pop culture landscape as our talented and diverse lineup will attest," VH1 executive Lee Rolontz said in a release. "This year's Divas offers a modern twist on soul music, all while tipping its hat to the legacy of key cities that created this musical heritage."
The cities honored in the program include Chicago, Detroit, London, Memphis and Philadelphia, VH1 said.
