Early Halloween at NYC Comic Con

NEW YORK, Calif., Oct. 16 (UPI) -- Organizers of New York Comic Con said they expected nearly 100,000 for this weekend's big pre-Halloween event.

The proximity to Oct. 31 was expected to bring out scores of adult trick-or-treaters to the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center decked out in some over-the-top costumes.

"Go big or go home," said Felicia Warner, 22, Poughkipsie, N.Y., told the New York Daily News as she hit the hallways at Javits with a "Pirates of the Caribbean" ensemble.

The newspaper said a check of the center's restrooms found a number of attendees adjusting their outrageous makeup. "I'm not usually one to wear costumes in public," said Liz Itaaliander, 23, who took a train to New York from Massachusetts. "But when we were coming from Secaucus, we saw people on the train in costume."
