The latest news on today's hottest celebrities ... MATTHEW FOX: Cleveland police detained Matthew Fox after a driver accused the actor of punching her as she tried to stop him from boarding a private party bus.
Fox, 45, is best known for his work on TV's "Party of Five" and "Lost." He is in Cleveland working on the film "I, Alex Cross."
The (Cleveland) Plain Dealer said Monday Heather Bormann, 24, alleges he punched her in the chest and stomach when she attempted to keep him off of the chartered vehicle she was piloting.
Bormann told police Fox approached the bus outside the Silk Nightclub Saturday night and asked to be taken to his hotel, then became belligerent when she told him "no."
"He just kept staring at me with his mouth wide open and not saying anything," TMZ quoted Bormann as saying. "I told him: 'You have to leave, buddy. You are trespassing on my bus.'"
The driver told the Web site Fox "leaned in and started punching my crotch and breast."
The Plain Dealer said Bormann told police the actor punched her in the chest and stomach, and she "swung back and punched [him] in the mouth, causing a cut on his lip."
Fox was released by police to a friend who took him by taxi to his hotel, the newspaper said.
No charges were immediately filed and officers advised Bormann to make a formal complaint to city prosecutors, the report said.
CHARLIE SHEEN: Boxer Mike Tyson and "Jackass" star Steve-O will be among those roasting Hollywood actor Charlie Sheen next month, Comedy Central said Monday.
Comedians Anthony Jeselnik and Jeffrey Ross, and TMZ's chief Harvey Levin, are also expected to mock Sheen mercilessly at the Sept. 10 taping at Sony Studios in Los Angeles. The show is to air on Comedy Central Sept. 19.
"Family Guy" creator Seth MacFarlane is to serve as roast master for the event.
MacFarlane has previously emceed ceremonies starring Donald Trump and David Hasselhoff and is the franchise's only three-time roast master.
Sheen was fired this year from the sitcom "Two and a Half Men" after eight seasons because of his erratic behavior and substance abuse, as well as for disparaging remarks he made about series creator Chuck Lorre. He later announced he is planning to star in a comedy series inspired by the film "Anger Management," however, it is unclear exactly when or where the show might air.
JOE COCKER: Joe Cocker is putting the final touches on "Hard Knocks," his 21st album, aiming to release it in North America this fall, 429 Records said Monday.
Due out Nov. 22, the CD is a collection of nine new songs plus a cover version of the Dixie Chicks' "I Hope," the label said.
Recording sessions for the album took place in producer Matt Serletic's Emblem Studios in Los Angeles.
"I don't really know what you would call this album: 'rock/pop'? It's a little more pop than I've been into for quite a while, so it would scare me sometimes," Cocker said in a statement. "I would do the basic tracks and then Matt would go away and do some of these overdubs and he had all these electronic things on there. It was sometimes like, 'Oh, my god!' But I wanted to work with Matt very much. And I always knew what kind of record we would be making."
KATHY GRIFFIN: U.S. comedienne Kathy Griffin is to star in a 1-hour special called "Kathy Griffin's Emmys Aftermath," TV Guide Network said Monday.
The program is to air Sept. 19, a day after the 2011 Emmy Awards for excellence in television are handed out in Los Angeles.
Griffin, who is Emmy-nominated this year for her work on "Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List," will moderate a panel to discuss "winners, losers, red carpet faux pas and all the off-camera happenings at the after-parties from the 2011 Primetime Emmy Awards," the cable network said.
"Shhh … don't tell anyone from TV Guide Network, but I swear I am going to say whatever I want the day after the Emmys," Griffin said in a statement. "I will have gone to all the parties and been kicked out of at least two. My feet are going to hurt and I will have either won or lost another Emmy. If I were you, I would tune in because I will be naming names ... and remember, Emmys are more than people."
Griffin recently served as host of "Kathy Griffin's Insightful and Hilarious Take on the Royal Wedding," which TV Guide Network said was one of its most buzzed-about specials of 2011.
