A more elaborate religious ceremony to be attended by dignitaries from around the world was planned for Saturday.

Albert is the 53-year-old son of the late Prince Rainier and late film star Grace Kelly.

People.com said thousands of well-wishers cheered as video of the prince and his 33-year-old bride exchanging vows in the throne room was shown on screens outside the palace.

The new princess wore a pale blue suit and diamond earrings and the prince was in a dark suit for the occasion, People.com reported.

Reports that said Wittstock wanted to call of the wedding were rampant this week but palace officials vehemently denied there was any discord between the couple, who began dating in 2005.

MICHAEL JACKSON: U.S. singer and reality TV personality Aaron Carter denies telling an Australian magazine reporter pop star Michael Jackson gave him wine and cocaine.

Jackson, who died in 2009, was criticized for years for his alleged inappropriate relationships with children. Dogged by child-molestation charges, he was never convicted of any crimes involving minors.

OK! Magazine in Australia quoted Carter, 23, as saying: "Yes, [Jackson] gave me wine. I mean, I could have refused, but I was 15. As for drugs? He gave me cocaine."

Carter's representative told TMZ Friday the quotes were fabricated.

"Nothing was said that was reported," the publicist insisted.

TMZ said the journalist who wrote the story has not responded to its request for a comment regarding the controversy.

ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER: Broadcast journalist Maria Shriver filed for divorce from her husband, actor and former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, in a Los Angeles court Friday.

The couple have been married for more than 25 years and are the parents of four children. Shortly after they confirmed in May they had separated this year, Schwarzenegger admitted he had fathered a son with a member of his household staff more than a decade earlier.

UsMagazine.com said Shriver cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason she was seeking to divorce her husband.

Shriver requested joint legal and physical custody of her sons with Schwarzenegger -- Patrick, 17, and Christopher, 13, the report said.

The couple's other two children are over the age of 18.

LIONEL RICHIE: Country singer Martina McBride has been booked to replace Lionel Richie as the featured musical guest for the Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular, CBS said.

Richie was forced to cancel his participation in Monday's Independence Day event because he is suffering from strained vocal cords, said the network, which is to air the program live from the Charles River Esplanade in Boston.

Emmy Award-winning actor and Boston-area native Michael Chiklis is to serve as host of the special.

Richie, who has been completing his upcoming album as well as performing concerts, has been ordered by his doctor to rest his voice.

"I am extremely disappointed to cancel my performance with the Boston Pops but must follow my doctor's orders," Richie said in a statement Friday. "It was such an honor being asked to celebrate the Fourth of July with this legendary orchestra and I hope to perform with them in the future."

"We will miss Lionel and hope he recovers quickly and completely," said Jack Sussman, executive vice president of specials, music and live events for CBS Entertainment. "Having a superstar like Martina step in at the last minute is a dream come true. She is one of the greatest voices of this or any generation, and she is now my hero."
