ORLANDO, Fla., May 14 (UPI) -- Disney has filed an application to trademark the name of the U.S. commando unit credited with dispatching Osama bin Laden.

The paperwork filed this week at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office puts The Walt Disney Company subsidiary Disney Enterprises on track to potentially start turning out toys and games labeled SEAL Team 6, the Orlando (Fla.) Sentinel said Saturday.

SEAL Team 6 has not appeared in public since its mission into Pakistan; however, Disney listed ideas such as Christmas tree ornaments, video games and snow globes as possible uses for the name.

The Sentinel said there actually is precedent for a civilian company obtaining the trademark rights to a Navy SEAL Team. A company called NovaLogic had the rights to SEAL Team 6 previously but abandoned it in 2006.
