CONRAD MURRAY: The trial of Conrad Murray, the cardiologist charged in the death of pop star Michael Jackson, won't start in Los Angeles until September, officials said.

Murray has been charged with involuntary manslaughter in the 50-year-old singer's 2009 death.

An autopsy found lethal levels of the anesthesia propofol and sedatives in Jackson's system.

Murray is accused of administering the drugs in the star's home to help him sleep.

At a hearing Monday, Judge Michael Pastor granted a request from Murray's lawyers to delay the trial. The attorneys said they need more time to prepare for new witnesses expected to be called by the prosecution, TMZ reported.

Opening statements were set to begin May 9.

ROB SCHNEIDER: Newlyweds Rob Schneider and Patricia Azarcoya Arce spent their honeymoon in Taiwan, the celebrity couple's representatives said.

The U.S. comic actor and Mexican TV producer spent a week on the island after their April 23 wedding.

"Taiwan is a beautiful place where I have been many times promoting my movies," Schneider said in a statement Saturday. "When I was at the LA Dodgers' Taiwan Day, it reminded me of the island's friendly people and great foods."

Schneider and Arce dined at the famous Din Tai Fong restaurant in Taipei and shopped at Taipei's Shilin Night Market. They also visited Ten Ren Tea Culture Museum, Taipei 101 -- the world's second tallest building, the National Palace Museum and Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall.

The couple was expected to leave Sunday, their publicists said.
