Photographer Milton Rogovin dead at 101

BUFFALO, N.Y., Jan. 18 (UPI) -- Social documentary photographer Milton Rogovin has died at his Buffalo, N.Y., home from complications related to a heart attack, his family said. He was 101.

The Buffalo News said he had been under hospice care at the time of his death Tuesday.

He attended a celebration marking his 101st birthday three weeks ago, the newspaper said.

The Brooklyn, N.Y., native and former optometrist was famous for his portraits of the poor and working class. Many of his works have been collected by the Library of Congress.
