LOS ANGELES, Jan. 9 (UPI) -- Boxer Mike Tyson is hitting back at a retired fighter who claims in Los Angeles to be the real "Iron Mike."

Back in August, Mike Landrum sued Tyson for $115 million in federal court in Los Angeles over the use of the nickname, which he said he had trademarked, TMZ.com reported. He asserted he was "hindered from getting any major title fights or sponsorships because of the name confusion."

At the end of last year, Tyson's lawyers filed a motion to dismiss, saying Landrum's suit lacked merit on several levels. They said no one would ever confuse a 58-year-old man who last fought in 1985 with "one of the most famous (if not the most famous) and recognizable boxer in history."

The sides are due back in court Jan. 31.
