Britain's queen to get Facebook page

LONDON, Nov. 7 (UPI) -- Britain's Queen Elizabeth is expanding her social network rule with a page on the social networking site Facebook, officials said.

The monarch already has a Twitter account, a YouTube channel and a presence on Flickr.

The queen's Facebook page will be up Monday, but visitors won't be able to "friend" her or give her a virtual "poke," the BBC said.

The site will feature happenings in Buckingham Palace along with schedules, ceremonies and information about royal events.

The queen reportedly uses email and sometimes surfs the Web, the BBC said.

The Facebook page is a collaboration between Buckingham Palace, Clarence House and the Royal Collection.

Prince William has been featured on social networking sites, with updates about his tour of New Zealand in January posted to Facebook and Bebo by the New Zealand government.
