LA museum to show Hopper's art

NEW YORK, May 26 (UPI) -- The Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles says it is planning an exhibition of photos and paintings by film star Dennis Hopper.

The New York Post said the retrospective will be the first exhibition at the museum under its new director Jeffrey Deitch.

Hopper is helping curate the show, which is to open this summer, the Post said.

The 73-year-old star of "Easy Rider" and "Apocalypse Now" has been battling prostate cancer.
