Norton set for 'Modern Family' stint

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 10 (UPI) -- U.S. actor Edward Norton has signed up to guest star in an upcoming episode of the new TV comedy series "Modern Family," ABC said.

Best known for his roles in "Primal Fear," "Fight Club" and "The Incredible Hulk," Norton will play Izzy LaFontaine, a "famous" musician hired by Claire as a surprise anniversary gift for Phil in "Family," the network said.

Elizabeth Banks of "Seabiscuit" and "Zack and Miri Make a Porno" fame will guest star in the same episode as Mitchell and Cameron's best girlfriend, Sal.

"Modern Family" is set to premiere Sept. 23. It stars Ed O'Neill as Jay Pritchett, Julie Bowen as Claire Dunphy, Ty Burrell as Phil Dunphy and Sofia Vergara as Gloria Delgado-Pritchett.
