Lori Petty pleads no contest to DUI

VENICE, Calif., Sept. 4 (UPI) -- Actress Lori Petty has pleaded no contest to a charge stemming from a May arrest in Venice, Calif., for allegedly hitting a skateboarder while driving drunk.

TMZ reported Friday Petty's plea was to a count of driving under the influence with injury. The entertainment news Web site said charges of having no proof of insurance and DUI with a blood-alcohol level of 0.08 or higher were dismissed.

The actress reportedly was placed on 60 months probation, ordered to pay $100 in court fees and $395 in fines and penalties, and told to complete a 60-day outpatient alcohol treatment program.

TMZ said Petty has already completed 30 days of the program.

The actress is best known for her work in the movies "Point Break," "A League of Their Own" and "Tank Girl."
