NEW YORK, Aug. 17 (UPI) -- The 1952 Hollywood classic "Deadline USA" has been voted the best newspaper movie of all time by readers who responded to an Editor & Publisher poll.
E&P did not say how many people participated in the survey, which was conducted this month.
"Deadline USA" starred Humphrey Bogart, as a crusading newspaper editor who finds out the owners are about to sell the daily to a more commercial company.
Coming in at No. 2 was "All the President's Men," co-starring Robert Redford and Dustin Hoffman, followed by "Ace in the Hole" with Kirk Douglas at No. 3 and "The Paper," starring Michael Keaton and Glenn Close, at No. 4.
"Citizen Kane" and "His Girl Friday" tied for fifth place.
