Nitrous oxide tanks seized at Phish show

HARTFORD, Conn., Aug. 16 (UPI) -- Police in Hartford, Conn., say they seized 18 nitrous oxide tanks and dozens of balloons during a show by the band Phish.

The Hartford (Conn.) Courant said Saturday that in addition to the seized tanks and balloons, which are used to inhale nitrous oxide, police arrested eight people and seized several grams of marijuana.

Sgt. Dennis O'Connor said charges filed against the eight suspects range from possession of a restricted substance to possession with intent to sell.

The identities of the suspects were not reported, but the Courant said they include residents of Connecticut, Florida and Pennsylvania.

The Courant said Friday's arrests at the Comcast Theater came after officers were dispatched to the concert site to investigate possible narcotics activity.
