LOS ANGELES, Aug. 10 (UPI) -- A film amassed from rehearsals of U.S. entertainer Michael Jackson's London concert series will be released this fall, Sony Picture Entertainment said Monday.

The singer's estate is backing the film, which will be drawn from hundreds of hours of footage showing rehearsals and behind-the-scene sights and sounds of Jackson as he prepared for his series of 50 This Is It concerts at London's O2 Arena, Sony said.

The film, scheduled for an Oct. 30 release, also offers select sequences in 3-D, a career retrospective and feature interviews with some of Jackson's closest friends and collaborators.

The concerts were scheduled to begin just weeks after the singer's death on June 25.

"The world will see what our team was so fortunate to experience, which was the full commitment, passion and creativity that Michael put into this project," Kenny Ortega, Jackson's creative partner and director for the concerts, said in a statement.

The film also will show Michael as "one of the greatest entertainers in the world and one of the industry's most creative minds," the statement said.
