NEW YORK, Aug. 9 (UPI) -- U.S. opera singer David Miller of the group Il Divo married actress Sarah Joy Kabanuck in New York, his representative told People magazine exclusively.
Miller representative Lois Najarian said the 36-year-old tenor and the theater actress married Saturday in a New York townhouse decorated in the style of the opera "La Boheme," People.com reported.
The wedding decorations symbolized the couple's first meeting on a Broadway production of "Boheme" six years ago.
The West Village Chorale choir performed at Saturday's ceremony, which was attended by 100 guests.
"Sarah Joy and David are an incredibly positive couple," wedding planner Annie Lee said of Miller and Kabanuck, whose age was not reported. "They're genuine and warm, have a beautiful spirit about them and are truly in love."
Lee said the wedding guests were given chocolates shaped like penguins as party favors.
"David loved the idea of penguins mating for life," the Daughter of Design planner told People magazine. "He wanted the notion to be a part of his wedding day."
